The integrated ceramic filter is precision-crafted to handle standard loose-leaf green teas effectively. While it works well for most Japanese green teas, very fine fukamushi (deep-steamed) leaves may occasionally pass through, which is typical for this style of traditional filter.

This teapot is best suited for personal use or serving two people small cups of tea. Because it holds 8 ounces, it is ideal for concentrated, high-quality brews where you might re-steep the same leaves multiple times.

The matte finish is durable, but like all high-quality ceramics, it should be hand-washed with warm water. Avoid using harsh detergents or abrasive sponges, as these can alter the texture and appearance of the clay over time.
