Cervélo S5

The S5 is purpose-built for high-speed road riding, criteriums, and flat-to-rolling terrain where aerodynamic efficiency is the priority. It is designed for riders who want to minimize drag and maximize power transfer on fast, competitive rides.

The frame is designed to accommodate tires up to 34mm wide. This extra clearance allows you to run wider, lower-pressure tires for better comfort and grip without compromising the bike's aerodynamic profile.

The integrated cockpit is designed for clean aesthetics and reduced drag, which does make it less adjustable than a traditional two-piece bar and stem setup. You will need to ensure your fit measurements are dialed in during the initial build, as changing the stem length or bar width requires more involved maintenance.

This model comes equipped with Shimano Ultegra R8170 electronic shifting. This system provides precise, consistent gear changes with minimal effort, which is particularly beneficial when you are fatigued or riding in challenging conditions.

The S5 prioritizes stability and aerodynamic efficiency, which gives it a very planted, confident feel at high speeds. While it is stiff and efficient, it may feel slightly less nimble in tight, low-speed switchbacks compared to a dedicated climbing bike, but it excels at maintaining momentum on flats and descents.
