The high-lift design features a curved blade edge that creates increased airflow under the mower deck. This suction effect lifts the grass blades upright before they are cut, resulting in a cleaner, more uniform trim and better discharge into your collection bag or chute.

These blades are designed for 46-inch mower decks and utilize a star-shaped center hole for mounting. They are compatible with several brands, including Bolens, Huskee, MTD, Troy-Bilt, Yard Machines, and Yard-Man, but you should always verify your current blade's center hole shape and deck size before purchasing.

While these blades are optimized for high-lift discharge, they are not specifically designed for mulching. If you primarily mulch your clippings, you may find that these blades leave more visible clippings on the lawn compared to a dedicated mulching blade.

Installing mower blades is a standard maintenance task, but it does require basic tools and safety precautions. You will need to disconnect the spark plug wire to prevent accidental starting, secure the blade to prevent rotation, and use a wrench to remove the mounting bolt before swapping in the new set.

You should generally replace your blades once a year or whenever you notice the grass tips looking frayed or brown after mowing. If you frequently mow over rocky terrain or thick debris, you may need to inspect and sharpen or replace them more often.
