Apochromatic telescopes use specialized extra-low dispersion glass to focus different wavelengths of light at the same point. This virtually eliminates chromatic aberration—the purple or blue fringing often seen around bright objects—resulting in sharper, more color-accurate images.

It is highly versatile and excels at both. The 120mm aperture and 900mm focal length provide the high contrast needed for crisp planetary details, while the apochromatic design makes it an excellent choice for capturing the faint structures of deep-sky nebulae.

The focuser is designed to accept standard 2-inch accessories, and it includes a dielectric diagonal for that size. If you have 1.25-inch eyepieces, you will simply need a standard 2-inch to 1.25-inch adapter, which is a common accessory for most telescopes.

Weighing in at 11.3 lbs, the optical tube is manageable for most users to mount and transport. It comes with a durable aluminum carrying case, which keeps the optics protected and makes it much easier to move between your home and dark-sky observing sites.

Because this is an optical tube assembly, you will need to purchase a compatible equatorial or alt-azimuth mount separately. Given the 120mm aperture and its length, look for a sturdy mount with a payload capacity of at least 15-20 lbs to ensure stability during high-magnification viewing.

While you can technically use it for terrestrial viewing, it is primarily engineered for astronomy. Because it is an astronomical telescope, the image will appear upside down and reversed unless you purchase an additional correct-image diagonal.
