Yes, they are designed for both indoor and outdoor use. However, because they are crafted from natural fir wood, we recommend placing them in a covered patio or porch area to extend their lifespan and prevent the wood from weathering too quickly.

The galvanized metal liners do not come pre-drilled with drainage holes. If you plan to use them outdoors, you may want to drill holes in the bottom of the liners to prevent water from pooling and damaging your plants' roots.

You can plant directly into the metal liners, but using a nursery pot inside is often easier for maintenance and drainage control. If you choose to plant directly, ensure you add a layer of gravel or rocks at the bottom to assist with drainage.

While they are sturdy due to the iron and wood construction, they are not excessively heavy. The iron ring handles make them easy to move around your space, even when filled with soil and plants.

The metal is treated to have a weathered, industrial aesthetic, but like any galvanized material, it may develop a natural patina or slight oxidation if exposed to constant moisture. This typically enhances the rustic, vintage character of the planters rather than compromising their structural integrity.
