Yes, the board is finished with food-safe materials, making it perfectly suitable for both food preparation and serving charcuterie or appetizers.

To maintain the wood's integrity, hand wash the board with mild soap and water, then dry it immediately. Avoid soaking it in water or putting it in the dishwasher, and apply a food-grade mineral oil periodically to prevent the wood from drying out.

While the board is functional on both sides, the personalized engraving is typically featured on one side. We recommend using the non-engraved side for heavy chopping to preserve the design, while using the engraved side for serving or light prep.

All available options—Maple, Cherry, Walnut, and Mahogany—are premium hardwoods suitable for kitchen use. Maple is generally the hardest and lightest in color, while Walnut offers a rich, dark aesthetic that hides knife marks well over time.

The engraving is etched directly into the wood, so it is permanent. However, if you use the engraved side for heavy cutting, the fine details of the text may eventually show wear from knife marks.

The rectangle style offers a classic, clean-lined look that maximizes surface area for chopping. The arched style provides a more decorative, elegant silhouette that often looks better when displayed on a countertop or used as a serving platter.
