These reins are crafted from premium Hermann Oak harness leather that has been meticulously hand-rubbed and oiled. This process softens the fibers during manufacturing, eliminating the stiff, plastic-like feel common with new leather tack.

The heavy ends provide a consistent, natural drape, which helps the reins hang straight down from the bit. This weight allows for subtle, clear communication because the horse can feel the slightest movement or release of tension in your hands.

The 1/2-inch and 5/8-inch widths are generally preferred for cutting and reining where you need a lighter, more sensitive feel. The 3/4-inch and 1-inch options offer a more substantial grip, which many riders prefer for general training or stock horse events.
