These reins are hand-rubbed and oiled during production to provide a supple, broken-in feel right out of the box. You won't need to spend time conditioning them before your first ride.

Cutting the leather side-by-side ensures that both reins have identical weight, thickness, and flexibility. This consistency is crucial for maintaining uniform balance and clear communication with your horse.

The soft chap lining adds a layer of comfort and grip against your hands, preventing the chafing that can sometimes occur with raw harness leather. It also adds a bit of extra weight, which helps the reins drape naturally.

The 1/2-inch width is generally preferred for reining and cutting where precision and feel are paramount. The 5/8-inch and 3/4-inch widths offer a bit more substance, making them excellent choices for trail riding or stock horse events where you might want a more substantial feel in your hand.

The 7-foot length is standard for most horses and provides enough slack for reining maneuvers. If you are riding a larger horse or prefer extra length for trail riding to allow for more movement, the 8-foot option is the better choice.
