While these fins are specifically designed for riders around 180 lbs, they can still work for lighter surfers who prefer a stiffer, more driven feel. However, if you are significantly lighter, you might find them slightly too rigid and may want to consider a medium-sized fin instead.

The smaller center fin is a deliberate design choice by Al Merrick to reduce drag and loosen up the tail. This configuration allows for quicker, more responsive turns while maintaining the drive provided by the larger side fins.

These fins are designed exclusively for the Futures fin system. If your surfboard has Futures boxes, they will fit perfectly; they are not compatible with FCS or other fin box systems.

The wider base is engineered to provide extra surface area, which helps you generate and maintain speed through your turns. It essentially acts as an engine, giving you more drive and projection when you push hard off the bottom.
