This is a dedicated touring ski designed for uphill efficiency. While its construction allows it to handle resort conditions, it is optimized for backcountry travel where weight and climbing performance are the priorities.

The Hollowtech Evo tip removes material from the shovel to reduce swing weight, which makes the ski feel more agile in technical terrain. It also helps dampen vibrations, providing a smoother, more stable ride on firm or variable snow.

The 88mm waist is relatively narrow, making it best suited for firm snow, spring corn, and mixed backcountry conditions rather than deep powder days. The progressive rise in the tip and tail does provide some float, but it is not designed as a dedicated powder ski.

The Biafo 88 is ideal for intermediate to advanced backcountry skiers who prioritize long days in the mountains and want a lightweight setup that doesn't sacrifice edge hold. It is a great choice for those who value precision and agility over pure flotation.

With a 10.3m turning radius, this ski is exceptionally quick and responsive edge-to-edge. This makes it very easy to maneuver in tight trees or technical couloirs, though it may feel less stable at very high speeds compared to a ski with a longer radius.
