Instead of relying solely on harsh chemicals, this system uses a dual-cartridge approach that combines minerals with a low level of bromine. The minerals do the heavy lifting to destroy bacteria, which allows you to use up to 50% less bromine than traditional methods, resulting in softer water and fewer chemical odors.

The Spa Frog Serene Floating System is designed for hot tubs up to 600 gallons. Because it is a floating system, it is compatible with most hot tub models, provided you have the space for the dispenser to float freely.

Maintenance is straightforward: the mineral cartridge lasts for four months, while the bromine cartridge typically needs to be replaced every two to four weeks, depending on your hot tub usage and water volume.

While it significantly reduces the need for daily dosing, it does not replace the need for occasional water testing and balancing. You will still need to monitor your pH and alkalinity levels to ensure the water remains safe and comfortable.

The mineral component is designed to condition the water, which many users find makes it feel less harsh on the skin compared to high-concentration bromine or chlorine systems. By reducing the reliance on aggressive sanitizers, the water generally feels more comfortable and lacks the strong chemical smell associated with traditional hot tub maintenance.
