A standard mummy bag can feel restrictive, especially if you are a side sleeper or tend to toss and turn. The wide mummy cut provides extra room in the shoulders and hips, allowing you to move more naturally without sacrificing the thermal efficiency needed to keep you warm.

This bag is anatomically tailored to fit the female form, typically featuring a slightly narrower shoulder width and a wider hip area. This design reduces dead air space, which helps the bag heat up faster and stay warmer throughout the night.

The 10°F rating indicates the limit at which the bag will keep you alive, but it is not necessarily the 'comfort' rating. For most people, this bag is ideal for late autumn or early spring trips where temperatures hover around freezing, though you may need a high-quality sleeping pad to prevent heat loss from the ground.

If you are close to the 67-inch limit for the Regular size, opt for the Long. Having a little extra length prevents your feet from compressing the down at the bottom of the bag, which is crucial for maintaining loft and warmth in the footbox.

Always store the bag uncompressed in a large storage sack or hung up when you aren't on the trail to maintain the down's loft. When it gets dirty, wash it sparingly using a specialized down cleaner and tumble dry on low heat with clean tennis balls to break up clumps.
