Huang Shao Tian Yixing Teapot

Lao Zi Ni is a specific, aged variety of purple clay known for its porous structure and mineral composition. This aging process allows the clay to better absorb the oils and aromas of tea over time, which helps to soften the astringency and enhance the flavor profile of specific tea types.

While this teapot is optimized for raw Pu-erh and Jade Oolongs, it is versatile enough for other lightly oxidized teas. However, because Yixing clay is porous and 'remembers' the teas brewed in it, we recommend dedicating this pot to a single category of tea to avoid flavor contamination.

Each piece is individually crafted by Huang Shao Tian, so you may notice subtle differences in the clay's texture, the exact shade of the finish, or the curvature of the handle. These variations are not defects but rather hallmarks of the artisan's hand and proof of the teapot's authenticity.

The fast-pouring design is engineered to minimize the time the tea leaves spend in contact with water during the pour. This precision allows you to control the infusion time more accurately, preventing over-steeping and ensuring a cleaner, more balanced cup.

At 90ml, this teapot is designed for the Gongfu brewing method, which focuses on multiple short infusions rather than a single large cup. It is perfectly sized for a solo session or for sharing small, concentrated cups with one other person.
