Perception TrueFit Sunshield

This splash guard is designed to fit kayak cockpits ranging from 49 to 57 inches in length and 21 to 24 inches in width. We recommend measuring your cockpit rim dimensions carefully before purchasing to ensure a secure fit.

Unlike traditional spray skirts that feature a fabric tube extending up to your waist, the no-tunnel design covers only the cockpit opening. This provides an open, non-confining feel that is ideal for warm-weather paddling while still protecting your legs from sun and water.

It is made from durable, urethane-coated nylon, which is highly water-resistant and excellent for blocking splashes and drips. However, because it lacks a tunnel seal at the waist, it is intended for splash protection rather than rolling or heavy whitewater conditions.

The implosion bar provides structural support across the center of the cockpit cover. It prevents the fabric from sagging and stops water from pooling on top of the deck, ensuring that rain or splashes simply run off the sides.

The TrueFit Sunshield uses a combination of a bungee rand and sticky edging. This design grips the cockpit rim firmly to prevent shifting or slipping while you paddle, even when the material gets wet.

The zippered mesh pocket is designed for items that can safely get wet, such as sunscreen, a snack, or a waterproof map case. It is not a dry pocket, so avoid storing electronics or non-waterproof valuables inside.
