This groupset requires a frame with a UDH (Universal Derailleur Hanger) interface to mount the Transmission derailleur. Before purchasing, verify that your bike frame is UDH-compatible, as it will not fit on frames designed for traditional derailleur hangers.

The AXS battery is highly efficient and typically provides 20 to 25 hours of ride time on a single charge. It is also easily removable, so carrying a spare battery in your pack is a simple way to ensure you never lose shifting capability on longer adventures.

Maintenance is actually simplified because there are no cables to stretch or housing to replace. You will need to keep the battery charged and occasionally check the firmware via the SRAM AXS app, but the system is largely 'set it and forget it' once installed.

While the X0 Eagle Transmission is part of the broader Eagle ecosystem, the Transmission-specific derailleurs and cassettes are designed to work together as a cohesive unit. You can mix in other AXS-compatible controllers, but for the best performance, it is recommended to stick to the Transmission-specific drivetrain components.

The electronic shifting is sealed against the elements, making it highly reliable in wet and muddy conditions. Because the system does not rely on cable tension that can be compromised by grit in the housing, the shifting remains crisp regardless of how dirty the drivetrain gets.
