The MX configuration pairs a 29-inch front wheel with a 27.5-inch rear wheel to give you the best of both worlds. The larger front wheel rolls over obstacles and maintains momentum, while the smaller rear wheel allows for quicker cornering and provides more clearance for the rider on steep, technical descents.

While the V10 CC MX is a highly capable machine, it is designed specifically for aggressive downhill riding and racing. If you are just starting out, you might find its race-oriented geometry and suspension travel more than you need; it is best suited for riders who are already comfortable with high-speed, technical terrain.

Santa Cruz's Carbon CC frames use the highest grade of carbon fiber available, which allows engineers to achieve the same strength and stiffness as their standard frames while using less material. This results in a lighter overall bike without sacrificing the durability required for brutal downhill tracks.

The 7-speed SRAM GX DH drivetrain is built strictly for downhill racing and bike park laps where you are primarily descending. It is not designed for climbing or trail riding, so you will likely need a shuttle or a lift to get back to the top of the mountain.

With 215mm of rear travel, this bike is designed to handle massive impacts, which means the rear shock will work hard. You should adhere strictly to the manufacturer's recommended service intervals for the shock to maintain its damping performance and ensure the suspension linkage remains smooth and quiet.
