It is a true hybrid boot designed to handle both. With a 105 flex and asymmetrical power transfer, it performs like a dedicated resort boot on the downhill, while the T-Ride walk mechanism and 45-degree range of motion make it efficient enough for backcountry touring.

The C.A.S. (Custom Adaptive Shape) liner is designed with a specific material that is easier for boot fitters to punch, grind, or heat-mold. This allows you to address specific pressure points or anatomical irregularities for a much more precise, comfortable fit than a standard stock liner.

The Cochise features Vibram GripWalk soles, which are compatible with all GripWalk-certified bindings and most modern touring bindings. However, they will not work with older, traditional alpine bindings that are not GripWalk-compatible, so check your binding specifications first.

While it is not as ultralight as a dedicated uphill-only boot, 1630g is a very respectable weight for a boot that offers this level of downhill performance. It is ideal for skiers who prioritize stability and power on the descent but still want to comfortably access sidecountry or moderate backcountry terrain.

A 99mm last is considered a medium-volume fit. It provides a snug, performance-oriented hold for average-width feet, offering enough room to avoid cramping without sacrificing the precision needed for aggressive skiing.

The T-Ride system is designed to provide a very secure, play-free connection between the cuff and the shell when locked in ski mode, which is critical for power transfer. When switched to walk mode, it offers a smooth, natural stride that feels less restrictive than many other hybrid boots.
