While it is designed for cross-country racing, the ASR C2 90 is surprisingly capable on technical terrain. With 120mm of front travel and a dropper post included, it handles rough descents and challenging features much better than a traditional, stripped-down race bike.

The three-position adjustment allows you to toggle between open, pedal, and lock settings on the fly. This lets you firm up the suspension for efficient climbing on fire roads or open it fully to absorb impacts when the trail gets rocky and technical.

Like any high-performance carbon frame, you should regularly inspect it for cracks or deep scratches after heavy impacts. Beyond that, standard cleaning and ensuring your torque settings are correct when adjusting components is all that is needed to keep the frame in top condition.

The 29-inch wheels are standard for cross-country riding because they maintain momentum well and roll over obstacles like roots and rocks more easily than smaller wheels. This size provides a stable, fast-rolling platform that excels on long rides and technical climbs.

Internal routing provides a clean look and protects your cables from trail debris, but it can be slightly more involved to service than external routing. However, it is a standard feature on modern mountain bikes and is manageable for most home mechanics or local bike shops.

The 1x drivetrain is optimized for simplicity and reliability, reducing the risk of dropped chains. With 12 speeds, you have a wide enough gear range to tackle steep, sustained climbs without needing a front derailleur.
