The flattened top section is designed to reduce aerodynamic drag, but it also provides a wider, more ergonomic surface for your palms when climbing or riding on the tops. This increased surface area helps distribute pressure more evenly, which can reduce hand fatigue on longer rides.

The internal routing is designed to accommodate standard mechanical and electronic shifting setups. However, because routing paths can vary significantly between different bike frames and integrated cockpits, we recommend consulting with a professional mechanic to ensure your specific cable housing and electronic wires will fit cleanly through the ports.

The 4-degree flare provides a slightly wider stance in the drops, which offers more stability and control during descents or sprints. It also creates extra wrist clearance, preventing your forearms from hitting the top of the bars when you are in the drops.

We generally advise against using clip-on aero bars with the EC70 Aero. The flattened, aerodynamic top profile is not designed to handle the clamping force of aero extensions, and doing so could compromise the structural integrity of the carbon fiber.

The Maximum Contact Drop shape is engineered to provide more surface area for your hands to grip while in the drops. This design improves comfort by reducing pressure points and allows for a more secure, confident hold during high-intensity efforts.
