Syncros Drop In Headset

This is the SHIS (Standardized Headset Identification System) code. It tells you the specific dimensions of the headset cups and the fork steerer tube diameter, ensuring it fits your frame's headtube and your fork correctly.

This headset is designed for frames with an integrated (drop-in) headtube. You must verify that your frame's headtube dimensions match the IS31 top and IS41 bottom specifications before purchasing.

Cartridge bearings are sealed units that provide smooth, consistent steering performance and are generally more resistant to dirt and moisture than loose-ball systems. They are also easier to replace as a single unit when they eventually wear out.

Because this is a drop-in style headset, the bearings sit directly into the frame's headtube without needing to be pressed in with a traditional headset press. You will still need standard bike tools to remove your old headset and install the crown race onto your fork.

The top bearing uses a 36-degree angle to handle the specific preload requirements of the top assembly, while the bottom bearing uses a 45-degree angle to better manage the load and stability demands placed on the fork crown area.
