This headset is specifically engineered for Scott Scale and Spark MY17 carbon frames. Because it uses an integrated standard, it is not a universal fit and will only work with frames designed for the IS42/28.6 upper and IS52/40 lower bearing specifications.

IS stands for 'Integrated Standard.' This means the bearings drop directly into the bearing seats molded into your frame's headtube, rather than requiring external cups to be pressed in.

No, this headset is designed exclusively for tapered steerer tubes that transition from 1 1/8" at the top to 1.5" at the crown race. It will not accommodate a straight steerer tube.

ACB stands for Angular Contact Bearings, which are designed to handle the specific angled loads of steering forces better than standard radial bearings. The sealed design is crucial for mountain biking, as it keeps trail grit, mud, and moisture out of the mechanism to ensure smooth steering over time.
