While the fast-rolling center cluster makes it efficient on pavement, it is primarily designed as a gravel tire. If your rides are exclusively on smooth asphalt, you might prefer a dedicated road tire, but it performs admirably if your route includes mixed surfaces.

This is a tubeless-ready (TLR) tire, meaning it is optimized to be set up without tubes. Running it tubeless is highly recommended to take full advantage of the flat protection and to allow for lower tire pressures, which improves traction on loose surfaces.

The Gripton T5 compound is engineered for a balance of durability and grip. While it offers predictable handling on hardpack and dry gravel, it is not a dedicated mud tire, so you should exercise caution on slick, muddy, or extremely wet technical sections.

The 700c x 45 size is quite wide for a traditional road bike. Before purchasing, check your frame and fork clearance to ensure you have enough space for a 45mm tire, as many road frames are limited to 30mm or 32mm.

The tread is a hybrid design. The center cluster is tight for speed on hardpack and straightaways, while the aggressive side knobs are spaced out to bite into loose dirt and gravel when you lean the bike into corners.

The 60 TPI (threads per inch) casing is built for durability and puncture resistance rather than pure suppleness. It provides a robust, reliable feel that holds up well against sharp rocks and debris, making it a great choice for long-distance gravel exploration.
