Da Hong Pao is a rare, high-density variety of Yixing clay known for its exceptional heat retention and mineral composition. Its unique porous structure is particularly effective at softening tea flavors and developing a rich, lustrous patina through consistent use.

Before brewing, you should 'season' the teapot by boiling it in water with a small amount of the tea you intend to brew in it. This process removes any residual clay dust from the crafting process and helps the pot begin absorbing the tea's oils.

Yixing clay is naturally porous and will absorb the chemicals and fragrances found in soaps or detergents. To maintain the purity of your tea's flavor, rinse the teapot only with hot water and allow it to air dry completely between uses.

A 180ml capacity is ideal for solo sessions or serving two people using the Gongfu tea method. It is designed for multiple short infusions rather than serving large cups of tea at once.

The traditional 9-hole strainer is designed to provide a smooth, consistent flow while filtering out standard-sized loose leaf teas. If you are brewing very fine or broken-leaf teas, you may experience some sediment in your cup.
