This model is designed for areas where a push spreader cannot go, such as steep slopes, uneven terrain, or wet, soft ground. Because you carry the weight rather than rolling it, you have much better maneuverability in tight or challenging spaces.

The 3100 is versatile enough to handle most granular materials, including grass seed, fertilizer, and ice melt. Its high-speed gearbox ensures a consistent broadcast pattern regardless of the material density.

While the hopper is made from rustproof poly and the chassis is epoxy powder-coated for corrosion resistance, we recommend storing it in a dry place after use. Cleaning it thoroughly after spreading salt or fertilizer will significantly extend the life of the gearbox and frame.

The high-speed gearbox is engineered for efficiency, meaning you don't need to crank it aggressively to achieve a wide, even spread. It is designed to be manageable for most users, though you will be supporting the 40 lb weight of the material while cranking.

The spread width is primarily determined by the speed at which you turn the hand crank. By adjusting your cranking pace and walking speed, you can effectively manage the distribution pattern to suit your specific lawn or path size.
