ENVE Composites AG28 Foundation Wheel

The AG28 is specifically optimized for high-volume tires between 45mm and 57mm. This width range allows the rim to provide the necessary support for lower pressures, enhancing both comfort and traction on rough terrain.

While the rim is optimized for tubeless performance, it is fully compatible with traditional inner tubes. However, the hookless bead design is engineered to work best with a tubeless setup to minimize pinch flats and improve overall ride quality.

The hookless bead design creates a more precise rim shape, which improves tubeless tire seating and reliability. Additionally, the wider bead profile helps dissipate impact energy, significantly reducing the likelihood of pinch flats when riding over sharp obstacles.

The hub uses oversized 42mm steel ratchets to ensure positive, reliable engagement. This design reduces stress on the axle and provides a durable, responsive feel that holds up well under the demands of adventure and gravel riding.

Instead of drilling holes into the carbon fiber after it has cured, ENVE molds the spoke holes directly into the rim. This preserves the integrity of the carbon fibers around the spoke holes, resulting in a stronger, more durable rim that is less prone to fatigue.
