Lelit Portafilter

This portafilter is specifically designed for use with Lelit Mara X and Lelit Bianca models, which utilize an E61 group head.

A bottomless portafilter provides a clear view of the espresso extraction, which is essential for identifying issues like channeling or uneven distribution. It also allows for more clearance, making it easier to fit larger cups or scales under the group head.

The walnut handle is finished for durability, but it should be kept dry and never submerged in water or placed in a dishwasher. Wiping it down with a damp cloth after use is sufficient to keep the wood in good condition.

While the portafilter itself doesn't change the flavor, the bottomless design helps you refine your puck preparation and grind size. By correcting extraction flaws you can see, you will naturally achieve a more balanced and consistent cup.

Because there is no spout to direct the flow, any imperfections in your puck preparation can cause espresso to spray or drip unevenly. It is normal to experience a bit of a learning curve as you dial in your grind and tamping technique.
