Planewave Light Shroud for the CDK

Open-truss designs are susceptible to stray light entering from the sides, which can cause glare and reduce contrast. A light shroud acts as a physical barrier, blocking ambient light from reaching your optics and ensuring your images remain sharp and high-contrast.

The shroud is lightweight and designed to fit snugly around the truss structure, so it adds negligible weight. It should not affect your mount's tracking performance or balance, provided your telescope was properly balanced before installation.

While the shroud blocks light, it is constructed from breathable material that allows air to circulate. This ensures that your primary mirror can still reach thermal equilibrium effectively, which is critical for maintaining image quality during long observation sessions.

The shroud is designed for quick, straightforward attachment to the truss poles. You can easily install or remove it without tools, making it convenient for setups where you need to break down your equipment frequently.

While its primary purpose is light suppression, the shroud offers a secondary benefit by acting as a shield against falling dust and debris. It also helps slightly in slowing the formation of dew on the mirror by creating a micro-environment around the optical path.
