MSR WindBurner Stove

The stove is designed for standard threaded EN417 isobutane-propane fuel canisters. These are widely available at most outdoor retailers and camping supply stores.

The WindBurner system is an integrated design, meaning the burner is specifically optimized to work with the included locking pot. While you can technically use other cookware, the stove's windproof performance and stability are best when used with the dedicated system components.

The burner head is enclosed within the stove's base, which acts as a wind shield. This design prevents wind from blowing out the flame or stealing heat, allowing the stove to boil water efficiently even in exposed, breezy conditions.

While the push-button piezo ignition is convenient for most trips, piezo igniters can occasionally struggle in extreme cold or high humidity. It is always a smart practice to carry a backup lighter or waterproof matches in your pack just in case.

The pressure regulator ensures consistent heat output throughout the life of the fuel canister. Without it, stove performance often drops as the fuel level gets low or the temperature changes, but this system maintains a steady flame until the canister is empty.

The entire system is designed to nest together. The burner, fuel canister, and accessories pack inside the pot, resulting in a compact unit measuring 11.5 x 16.5 cm that saves significant space in your backpack.
