The Montrose RSL XT is Tubeless Ready (TLR), meaning it is designed to be run without an inner tube when paired with a tubeless-compatible rim, sealant, and valve. While you can use it with a tube, running it tubeless allows for lower pressures and better puncture resistance.

The 120 TPI (threads per inch) casing is quite supple, which allows the tire to conform better to trail obstacles and small bumps. This results in a smoother, more compliant ride compared to tires with a stiffer, lower thread count casing.

The triple-compound construction uses different rubber densities across the tire to optimize performance. It features a firmer center for rolling speed and braking, while softer side knobs provide extra bite and confidence when leaning into corners.

This model features comprehensive protection with both bead-to-bead and apex reinforcements. This dual-layer approach helps prevent cuts and flats on the sidewalls and tread area, making it durable enough for aggressive trail riding.

This tire is designed for 29-inch wheels and has a measured width of 61mm. Before purchasing, ensure your frame and fork have sufficient clearance for a 2.40-inch wide tire, as some older or cross-country frames may have limited space.
