ZWO Narrowband Filter

This set includes the three standard narrowband filters for astrophotography: Hydrogen-Alpha (Ha), Sulfur-II (SII), and Oxygen-III (OIII).

These filters are designed for standard 2-inch filter wheels or filter drawers. Ensure your imaging train has the necessary 2-inch threading or mounting compatibility before purchasing.

Because these filters block a significant amount of light to isolate specific wavelengths, you will need to increase your exposure times compared to using broadband or no filters. However, this trade-off is necessary to achieve high-contrast images of nebulae, especially when shooting from light-polluted areas.

While they are highly effective at blocking common light pollution sources like streetlights, they are not a total cure-all. They work best by isolating specific light emitted by nebulae, which allows you to process out the remaining background noise more effectively.

These are strictly designed for deep-sky astrophotography. They are not intended for visual use, as the narrow 7nm bandwidth transmits too little light for the human eye to perceive a clear image.

ZWO filters are engineered with high-quality coatings to minimize internal reflections. While no filter is entirely immune to halos around extremely bright stars, the fine-optical polishing and precise manufacturing significantly reduce these artifacts compared to lower-grade alternatives.
