Chroma Filter

A blue filter is primarily used to enhance contrast on planetary surfaces, particularly for observing cloud belts on Jupiter and Saturn. It helps isolate the blue spectrum, which can reveal finer details in atmospheric features that might otherwise be washed out.

Because this filter is parfocal for systems f/4.0 or slower, you should not need to significantly adjust your focus when switching between this filter and others in your set. This makes it much easier to maintain your view while comparing different spectral observations.

This filter is compatible with a wide range of telescope designs, including Refractor, Reflector, Schmidt-Cassegrain, Maksutov-Cassegrain, and Dobsonian systems. As long as your filter wheel or holder accepts 36mm round filters, it will integrate seamlessly into your setup.

High parallelism—in this case, less than 30 arcsec—ensures that the light passing through the glass is not distorted or shifted. This precision is critical for maintaining sharp, clear images, especially when you are observing at high magnifications.

While it is optimized for systems f/4.0 or slower, it can still be used with faster telescopes. However, you may lose the parfocal benefit, meaning you will likely need to refocus your telescope when inserting or removing the filter.
