Dielectric coatings are significantly more durable and reflective than standard aluminum coatings. They provide higher light transmission, which results in brighter, higher-contrast views of faint deep-sky objects.

Unlike thumbscrews that can mar the barrel of your eyepiece or loosen over time, the twist-lock mechanism applies even pressure around the entire barrel. This provides a much more secure grip and prevents the eyepiece from accidentally slipping or tilting.

A 90-degree angle is the industry standard for most astronomical observing because it allows you to look into the eyepiece without craning your neck, especially when the telescope is pointed near the zenith. However, it will produce a mirror-reversed image, which is typical for astronomical diagonals but not ideal for terrestrial viewing.

No tools are required. The diagonal is designed to slide directly into any standard 2-inch focuser drawtube, and the twist-lock mechanism is operated entirely by hand.
