Baader OIII Nebula Filter

This filter is designed to isolate the specific wavelengths of light emitted by doubly ionized oxygen. By blocking out light pollution and other wavelengths, it significantly increases the contrast of planetary nebulae and supernova remnants, making subtle details in these objects much easier to see.

This is a standard 2-inch round mounted filter. It is compatible with any telescope focuser or diagonal that accepts standard 2-inch accessories.

While this filter is highly effective for visual observation, it is also a popular choice for astrophotography. Its ability to isolate OIII emission lines helps photographers capture sharper, more detailed images of nebulae by reducing background sky glow.

This filter works best with telescopes that have a decent aperture, ideally 8 inches or larger, to gather enough light. Because OIII filters are quite restrictive, smaller telescopes may produce an image that is too dim for comfortable viewing.
