While the Blur 90 Trail is built with XC race geometry and efficiency in mind, its 120mm of travel makes it surprisingly capable for general trail riding. It excels on fast, flowy singletrack and long-distance rides where efficiency is key, though it may feel less forgiving than a dedicated enduro bike on extremely technical, rocky terrain.

The Superlight™ system is designed specifically to minimize weight and maximize pedaling efficiency. You will notice it feels very firm and responsive under power, effectively eliminating pedal bob, which makes it feel more like a hardtail when you are climbing while still absorbing trail chatter.

The 120mm of travel is optimized for speed and efficiency rather than big-hit absorption. It is perfect for cross-country racing and spirited trail riding, but if your local trails are filled with large drops, jumps, and heavy rock gardens, you might find yourself reaching the limits of the suspension more quickly than on a longer-travel trail bike.

The SRAM T-Type drivetrain is designed for durability and precise shifting under load, but it requires specific compatibility. Because it uses a direct-mount derailleur system, you cannot mix and match components with older SRAM drivetrains, so be prepared to use T-Type specific parts for any future replacements or upgrades.

Santa Cruz is well-regarded for its carbon layup process, which balances low weight with high impact resistance. While it is a lightweight race frame, it is built to handle the rigors of competitive XC racing, meaning it is plenty robust for standard trail riding provided you maintain the bike and avoid major crashes.
