Pinus radiata bark is highly valued because it is exceptionally stable and resistant to breaking down. Unlike softer barks that decompose quickly, this material maintains its structure for years, which means you don't have to repot your orchids as frequently.

The rule of thumb is to match the chip size to the root size of your plant. Smaller chips (3-6mm) are ideal for seedlings or orchids with fine roots, while larger chips (9-25mm) are better suited for mature orchids that require significant airflow around their root systems.

Orchiata is processed to be ready for use straight out of the bag. You do not need to soak or rinse it, as it is already clean and free of pathogens, allowing you to repot your plants immediately.
