Camplex opticalCON Fiber Optic Cable

This cable is built with a ruggedized polyurethane jacket and features Neutrik opticalCON connectors, which include a mechanical shutter system to protect the fiber endface from dust and debris. Additionally, the assembly comes with lockable, waterproof metal caps to ensure the connection remains secure and protected against the elements.

This is a 50 µm OM3 multi-mode fiber cable, which is designed for high-bandwidth applications over shorter distances, typically up to 300 meters for 10Gbps data rates. For extremely long-distance runs, single-mode fiber is generally preferred, but this cable is ideal for most field production, audio, and video networking needs.

The Neutrik opticalCON DUO connectors are significantly more robust than standard LC or SC connectors. They are rated for over 1,000 mating cycles and feature a pull-proof design with a 500N retention force, making them much less likely to break or disconnect during the rigors of setup and teardown.

The minimum bend radius for this cable is 4cm. While the polyurethane jacket is tough and flexible, exceeding this limit can cause signal loss or permanent damage to the fiber core, so handle it with care during deployment.

While the mechanical shutter system provides excellent protection against contamination, it is still best practice to inspect and clean the connector endfaces with a fiber optic cleaner before every connection. This ensures you maintain the low insertion loss of less than 0.5dB per connector.
