While designed primarily for cold brewing, the borosilicate glass is thermal-shock resistant, meaning it can handle hot liquids. However, the stainless steel filter is optimized for cold-steeping grounds or tea leaves, so you may want to remove the filter before pouring hot water to avoid over-extraction.

The filter uses a micro-fine 316 stainless steel mesh designed to catch the vast majority of coffee grounds. While some very fine silt is common with almost all metal-filter cold brew systems, this design is engineered to produce a smooth, clean cup without the need for paper filters.

We recommend hand-washing the pitcher and glasses to preserve the copper-plated accents and the integrity of the dual-wall glass construction. The stainless steel filter is dishwasher safe, but hand-washing is generally preferred to keep the fine mesh clear of debris over time.

The copper-plated lid is designed to sit securely on the pitcher for brewing and serving, but it is not a leak-proof, airtight seal. It is intended to keep dust and debris out of your beverage while in the fridge, rather than for transport.

The 54-ounce capacity allows you to brew a substantial batch of concentrate or ready-to-drink cold brew. Depending on your preferred coffee-to-water ratio, you can typically yield about 4 to 6 servings per full pitcher.
