Many native wildflower seeds require a period of cold, moist dormancy—a process called stratification—to germinate successfully. Planting in the fall allows the seeds to settle into the soil over winter, mimicking their natural life cycle so they are ready to sprout as soon as temperatures rise in the spring.

While this mix is designed for meadows and lawn replacement, it is container-friendly. Ensure your pots are large enough to accommodate the deep root systems these native perennials develop, and provide adequate drainage to keep the soil healthy.

These native species are selected for their drought tolerance and resilience, meaning they require significantly less maintenance than traditional turf. Once established, you will generally only need to mow or cut back the area once a year, typically in late winter or early spring, to clear out dead growth.

This blend is optimized for full sun to partial shade. If your planting site is in deep, dense shade, you may see reduced blooming and growth, as most of these native wildflowers prefer at least some direct sunlight to thrive.

The mature height of this mix is approximately 48 inches. Because these plants grow quite tall, it is a good idea to check your local municipal or HOA landscaping ordinances regarding 'naturalized' or 'wild' garden heights before planting.

While these seeds are organic and non-GMO, they are intended for ecological restoration and wildlife support, not consumption. As with any wildflower garden, it is best to keep pets and small children from ingesting the plants.
