Nickel plating is generally resistant to rust, but like any metal hardware, it performs best when kept clean and dry. We recommend wiping the hardware down after use, especially if you are riding in humid or wet conditions, to maintain its finish.

At 8 feet in length, these reins are standard for most horse sizes and disciplines. They provide enough slack for comfortable communication without being so long that they become cumbersome during fast-paced maneuvers.

While the leather is ready to use out of the package, applying a high-quality leather conditioner before your first ride can help soften the braid and protect the material from drying out over time.
