Incausa Makko Incense Elbow Pot

Makko is a traditional, unscented binding powder made from the bark of the Tabu-no-ki tree. It is used as a base to burn aromatic resins and woods, allowing them to smolder slowly and evenly without the need for a charcoal disc.

You create a small trail or mound of the Makko powder inside the ceramic vessel, then place your aromatic resins or woods on top or mix them in. Light the end of the powder trail, and it will act as a slow-burning wick, releasing the fragrance of the materials as it consumes the powder.

This set includes the heat-resistant ceramic elbow pot and the Makko powder. You will need to provide your own aromatic resins, woods, or essential oils to mix with the powder for scent.

While the pot is heat-resistant and designed for this specific ritual, it can still get warm during use. We recommend placing it on a heat-safe coaster or tray to protect your furniture surfaces from potential heat transfer.

The duration depends entirely on how much powder you use and how you shape the trail. A small, measured amount can provide a subtle, lingering fragrance for 15 to 30 minutes, making it ideal for short meditation or focus sessions.
