Since these artichokes grow into impressive specimens reaching 3 to 4 feet in height, you should space them at least 3 feet apart. They have an upright growth habit, but their foliage can spread significantly, so ensure they have room to breathe and receive full sun.

These seeds require patience, with a maturity time of 135 to 150 days. Because of this long growing season, it is often best to start them indoors or plant them as early as possible in the spring to ensure you get a harvest before the first frost.
