Because they are high-fired, they are more resistant to the elements than standard terra cotta. However, to prevent cracking in freezing climates, we recommend elevating them off the ground to ensure proper drainage and prevent water from freezing inside the base.

Each planter features integrated drainage holes at the base to prevent water from pooling around the roots. For the best results, we recommend placing a layer of gravel or pot shards at the bottom before adding soil to keep the drainage holes clear.
