Spectrum Solar Filter

This filter is designed for telescopes with an outside diameter between 378 mm and 384 mm, such as the Orion 12.5" and Zhumell 12" Dobsonians. Before purchasing, measure the outside diameter of your telescope's optical tube to ensure a secure, safe fit.

A full aperture filter allows light to enter through the entire front opening of your telescope, which provides the highest possible resolution and detail for solar observation. By utilizing the full diameter of the lens, you get a sharper, more defined image of sunspots and solar granulation.

This glass filter produces a natural, high-contrast yellowish-orange view of the sun. This color profile is generally preferred for its comfort during extended observation sessions and its ability to help distinguish surface details.

The filter features a sturdy aluminum cell equipped with nylon thumb screws. Simply slide the filter over the front of your telescope tube and tighten the screws until the felt padding creates a snug, immovable fit. Always double-check that it is firmly attached before pointing your telescope at the sun.

To keep the glass in top condition, store the filter in a cool, dry place when not in use and avoid touching the glass surface with your fingers. If the glass becomes dusty, use a gentle lens blower or a soft, clean microfiber cloth to remove debris without scratching the coating.
