If you are comfortable with basic DIY home repairs and have access to the area behind your baseboard, you can likely install it yourself. If you are unsure about cutting into your wall or connecting the vacuum piping, hiring a professional installer is recommended to ensure an airtight seal.

The unit comes in a standard almond finish. While the plastic material can technically be painted, it is generally not recommended as the finish may chip or peel over time due to the constant friction of sweeping debris into the opening.

The Vacpan features a simple, hands-free operation. You simply use your foot to flip the lever on the front of the unit, which opens the intake valve and automatically triggers your central vacuum system to start suction.

Because the opening is designed for sweeping debris, it is best to avoid large items that could clog the piping. If something does get stuck, you can usually clear it by manually opening the valve or, in some cases, by using a stiff wire to gently dislodge the obstruction.
