Asclepias Soulmate thrives in full sun, which means at least six to eight hours of direct sunlight daily. If planted in partial shade, you will likely see fewer blooms and weaker stems.

Asclepias incarnata, or Swamp Milkweed, is generally well-behaved compared to other milkweed varieties. While it can spread through self-seeding, it is not considered aggressive or invasive in most garden settings.

Simply planting them is the best first step. As a native host plant, the monarchs will naturally find them for nectar and egg-laying, provided you avoid using pesticides in your garden.
