Collegiate Laced Reins

These reins are designed primarily for daily schooling and training. Their traditional, simple aesthetic makes them a reliable, functional choice for everyday work, though they may lack the refined finish required for higher-level show rings.

Hook and stud billets offer a cleaner, more streamlined look by eliminating the bulk of a buckle. They provide a secure connection to the bit, though they generally require a bit more care to ensure the stud is fully seated and the leather loop is secure.

The laced design provides a tactile, textured grip that helps prevent the reins from slipping through your fingers, even if they get slightly damp. This style is generally preferred by riders who want a bit more security than smooth leather reins offer.

At 54 inches, these are standard length reins suitable for most horses. If you are riding a particularly large warmblood or a horse with a very long neck, you may find them slightly short, but they fit the average horse comfortably.

To maintain the integrity of the leather, clean them with a quality leather soap after every few rides to remove sweat and dirt. Follow up with a light conditioner periodically to keep the leather from drying out or cracking, especially given the laced detailing.
