API Optics 3D Glasses

These glasses are specifically designed for passive 3D systems that use circular polarization, such as RealD cinema setups. They will work with home 3D TVs that utilize passive technology, but they are not compatible with active shutter 3D TVs that require battery-powered glasses.

Achromatic lenses are engineered to correct color fringing and distortion, ensuring that the light passing through the lens remains accurate. In these glasses, it helps maintain color fidelity and sharpness, preventing the slight color shifts sometimes seen in lower-quality 3D eyewear.

The Terminator Black frame style is designed for a standard fit, but it is not specifically an 'over-the-glasses' (OTG) frame. If you wear larger prescription frames, you may find the fit tight or uncomfortable.

While these use circular polarization, IMAX 3D systems often use different polarization standards depending on the specific theater location. It is best to check if your local IMAX theater uses RealD-compatible passive glasses; if they use a proprietary system, these may not provide the intended 3D effect.

To preserve the specialized anti-glare coating, use only a clean, dry microfiber cloth. Avoid using paper towels, tissues, or household glass cleaners, as these can scratch the acrylic surface or strip the optical coating over time.
