It is quite versatile. It performs best in partial shade, especially in hotter climates where intense afternoon sun might scorch the leaves, but it can also handle full sun if the soil remains consistently wet.

It has a medium growth rate and naturalizes by slowly spreading its roots. While it will fill in a space over time, it is not considered invasive and is easy to manage in borders or containers.

The foliage is aromatic, but the scent is subtle. You will primarily notice the pleasant, sweet fragrance when the leaves are brushed against or crushed, making it a great choice for planting along pathways or near water features.
