Stella de Oro Daylily Roots

Unlike many perennials that bloom only once, Stella de Oro daylilies are bred to produce multiple flushes of flowers throughout the summer. You can expect consistent yellow blooms from early summer well into the season, rather than a single, short-lived display.

Because these are a dwarf variety, they stay relatively compact. For the best results, space the roots about 12 to 18 inches apart to allow them enough room to establish their root systems and spread naturally without overcrowding.

These daylilies are hardy down to USDA Zone 3, making them extremely cold-tolerant. They are well-suited for most northern climates and will return reliably each spring after going dormant in the winter.

While they are excellent for garden borders, Stella de Oro daylilies perform well in containers too. Just ensure your pot has adequate drainage holes and is large enough to accommodate the root ball, as they prefer consistent moisture but dislike sitting in water.

These plants thrive in full sun, which means they need at least six to eight hours of direct sunlight daily. While they may survive in partial shade, you will get the most vibrant and frequent blooms if you plant them in a spot that receives plenty of bright, unfiltered light.
