Blue Thumb Basalt Column Fountain Kit

These columns are molded from real basalt rock to capture authentic textures and details, but they are constructed from Glass Fiber Reinforced Concrete (GFRC). This material provides the rugged look of natural stone while being significantly lighter and easier to install.

The kit is designed for a turnkey installation and includes the three basalt columns, a basin, plumbing, decorative pebbles, and two Mag-Drive pumps (1100 GPH and 800 GPH). It also comes with an auto-fill kit to help maintain water levels automatically.

While the kit is designed for easier handling due to the GFRC construction, it is still a substantial project. You will need to prepare a level area for the basin and manage the electrical connections for the pumps, so we recommend having at least two people to assist with the placement of the columns.

Yes, like most outdoor water features, you should drain the fountain and store the pumps indoors during freezing temperatures. Leaving water in the basin or pumps during a hard freeze can cause cracks in the concrete or damage the internal pump components.

The auto-fill kit connects to a standard garden hose or water line to keep the basin topped off, which significantly reduces the need for manual monitoring. You will still need to occasionally clean the pump intake and check for debris to ensure consistent water flow.

The set includes three columns of varying heights to create visual interest: 42 inches, 54 inches, and 66 inches.
